My daughter and I visit the Flower Mound location of La Madeleine often. Here favorite on the menu is the Chicken Salade Croissant. I swear by the Country Potato Soup and the Tomato Basil Pesto Pasta Salade. Recently, they have a few new items they have added to their menu. My daughter and I decided to try a few out. It’s great because this is the time we really get to spend together between my work, her color guard, and just general life duties.
The three new salades celebrate the fresh ingredients found at Provençal country markets, including the flavorful Chicken, Bacon & Bleu made with crispy bacon and savory bleu cheese. The Roasted Vegetable, Chicken & Goat Cheese salade highlights fresh vegetables one would find at any market in France including pesto-roasted zucchini, red bell peppers, button mushrooms and a wonderful fresh goat cheese spread. The Cranberry & Pecan Wild Field salade perfectly balances sweet and savory flavors with dried cranberries and toasted pecans tossed in balsamic vinaigrette.
For dessert, La Madeleine is featuring variety of lemon cakes and pastries from its namesake Lemon Madeleine, made with real lemon peel and juice, to a moist Lemon Cream Cake. These light, sweet and delicious desserts are the perfect way to celebrate citrus season in the South of France, right in your own neighborhood. Guests can also try the Lemon White Chocolate Chunk Cookie or scrumptious Lemon Tarts.
Then we tried the Lemon Cream Cake. Just writing about this cake makes me want to get in the car and drive over there to have another piece. Super light and airy with the perfect amount of lemon flavor. It’s the best dessert for spring or summer. This and the free WiFi will have me going there at least weekly!
I teased my daughter and told her I was going to steal her pasta. Never ever try and take a color guard girls food. She won’t be pleasant. At least I know she has an appetite!
Thank you to La Madeleine for the complimentary meal. All opinions expressed here are my own experiences.
