We list the places where you can experience something different, fun, or out of this world. One of my favorites on this list is the Sealife Aquarium. While I think fish below in the sea I like their efforts to show awareness and support different organizations including their own. There is plenty of fun places to visit in Grapevine. Let’s jump into the list.
This is probably one of the most famous places in Grapevine, TX as of late. The grand hotel houses several restaurants from simple bar style food to delicious Italian. It has shops, waterfalls, and even a water park. In the summer, it has a great view of the lake and fireworks on Friday nights. The room is around $300+ but you get a wonderful balcony. Not to mention we saw a coyote on the grounds near the convention area. Too cool right!
Great Wolf Lodge
With a full indoor water park everyone says this is a must! I would suggest getting tickets to just the water park if your staying else where. If your planning to really have fun for the kids then I would pick this option over the Gaylord. I just feel like there is plenty of fun at the Great Wolf Lodge.
You must have a child to get in. So if your an adult with no kids don’t even try. While this is a bummer the kids will totally enjoy the entertainment. Usually in the summer they put out coupons so look for those.
Sea Life Aquarium
This place is too rad! I loved getting to stand over the stingray on a bridge. It’s fun to get to lightly touch starfish and more. The gator area is pretty neat too. I like the sea horses and the HUGE crab they have. I mean he is just HUGE! Coupons are usually available during the summer time also.
Old Town Grapevine
There is so many fun places to eat at in Old Town Grapevine from Big Fish to Napoli’s which has gelato you don’t want to miss out on. Plenty of shops to visit including the General store that has many trinkets and souvenir items. Also, there is plenty of historical sites to visit, fountains, and even a farmer’s market which you can find some pretty good barbecue sauce at. Visiting during the day will ensure more places to be open.
There is plenty of things that are offered to do on Grapevine lake. From camping to sailing even fishing and cruises. You can definitely have a day of fun on the lake. They even rent paddle boats. Just watch out for the spiders and the sometimes snakes that line the shores.
Vintage Grapevine Train
This historical vintage trains still runs through grapevine into Fort Worth Stockyards. You may ride the train. It’s best to look up times that the train runs and buy the tickets in advance. It does get hot here and the train does not have air conditioning.
Grapevine Mills Mall
This started out as a outlet mall. It is not a mall that houses Round One which is gaming central with pool tables, video games, and more. Just near the theater is where Sealife and Legoland are located. You may also want to stop by Rain Forest Cafe which is pretty neat with fish tanks, animated monkeys, tigers, and even an alligator. The younger kids will find this super fun. Be careful of the thunder storms. The wee ones might not like those.
This vintage movie theater offers classics along with other older films. It’s a place to stop by while you are in Grapevine to maybe show some vintage film history to your children. The theater was built in 1940.
Vetro Glassblowing Studio
If you like glass then you must visit this place. They have plenty of decor items and fun for the kids when it comes to getting a piece. They even have events where you get to create fun glass pieces. Just check out their events page for more.
