Cranberry Pie & Cranberry Sauce
At Thanksgiving I am all about pie! It’s the perfect end to such a savory meal. Every year we do a pumpkin pie and a few pecan pies. This year I want to do something different so I created a simple cranberry pie a few days ago to share with the family. We had to work out one kink and that was the topping. The filling was so delicious and tangy.
Cranberries naturally have a tart taste which makes them so good in pie. Some people love chocolate pies and those with cream. However, I have to say that fruit and berry pies are my favorite. Nothing like a good strawberry, apple, or triple berry pie.
My daughter can eat a pumpkin pie to herself. My son and husband are big pecan pie fans. They always end up eating all the pie. This year that won’t be the case.
This cranberry pie will be all mine. I wish but I know I will end up sharing it with all of them. A good lump of ice cream with warm cranberry pie who doesn’t love that combination! What kind of pie do you make for Thanksgiving? Do you do something other than pie?
Another Thanksgiving favorite is cranberry sauce. The process isn’t much different between these two so I thought I would put them together with a little video for both! The only difference in the pie is you add vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, and a bit more sugar. Don’t forget to use it with Leftover Turkey Turnovers.
