Blackberry Lime Margarita
Sometimes a frozen margarita is all the hype. Great for when your doing pitchers with guests. Sometimes a relaxing drink at home doesn’t take a whole pitcher of margaritas. That’s where this Blackberry Lime Margaritas is perfect for drinks at home. Also, fantastic for a twist on Cinco De Mayo.
When making cocktails at home I like to use a muddle for pressing the ingredients. This especially comes in handy when making margaritas or mojitos. Hence, for limes, lemons, and berries to muddle the juices from each of those.
Muddling:
For many years, I worked as a bartender locally. Therefore, my knowledge of mixing drinks is a bit above average. When it comes to muddling make sure to press well but be sure not to over press. Hence, when pressing lemons and limes you don’t want to crush the whites which will cause a bitter taste.
Herbs:
Therefore, when it comes to the herbs be sure not to crush too hard. Herbs are best used in cocktails when freshly grown at home. Spring is here and this a great time to recognize earth day is around the corner. Plant some basil, thyme, and mint for those mixed drinks. Save yourself money and invite friends over.
Enjoying a few fresh cocktails on the patio with friends is the best way to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. Blackberry Lime Margaritas are perfect for the occasion. Serve up grilled tacos with charros beans for a simple backyard celebration. Do you have a favorite cocktail you like to serve up at the holidays? Does your family and/or friends celebrate a special occasion with drinks? I’d love to know in the comments below.
