Thank you to Stencil Revolution for sending me the cutest stencils to make this Beach Life Beach Bag. My opinions on these stencils are completely my own as always.
Going out to the lake a lot gave me an idea to make my daughter a beach bag to reuse. She also doesn’t live at home and I wanted her to have a bag she can stick into the trunk of her card to have an extra bathing suit and towel in it. You never know when the occasion to swim will pop up. Being ready makes all the difference in having swim time fun!
When I stumbled on to Stencil Revolution and saw the stencil for the Beach Vibes with a flamingo in it I knew I just had to get one for her beach bag. She loves flamingos! It took some time to make. First, I used the stencil to paint in with the coral paint. I had to go back with a thin brush to get the outlines straight.
Second, after painting the outline I used a sharpie paint pen to go back and out the the letters. This make for a clean and perfect edging. I did go over it several times to get the dark black outline that you see above. Lastly, I took a pencil eraser and dipped in paint to go around the design and add dots.
Furthermore, I flipped over the bag and painted a pineapple on it with the stencil. I outlined it with the sharpie pen. After all that was complete I took my finger and dipped it into a bit of paint and make brush marks across the bag around the pineapple. Later, I wished that I had done the dots instead.
My daughter said she really loved the bag and to me in the end that’s all that matters. After all, I did get a few more stencils and I plan to use them for some home decor ideas. Working with wood over fabric I believe will be so much easier as the paint really soaks into the fabric. Take a moment and watch the short video below that shows you how I made the bag.
