In love with Lush bath bombs but don’t feel like spending $6 to $8 dollars a bath bomb? That’s exactly how we feel. We decided to make our own. Aside from the mold kit which is a one time purchase you can make these bath bombs for pretty darn cheap. These Batty Bath Bombs are super cute with candy bat sprinkles and orange colors sure to make your bath tons of Halloween fun.
The recipe for these is super easy. To change out the colors or the fragrance of the bomb just replace it with whatever you would like within the recipe.
BATTY BATH BOMB
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1 cup citric acid (canning section)
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 4 tablespoons oil (coconut, olive, pumpkin, vegetable)
- 3 to 6 drops of fragrance
- 2 to 4 drops of coloring
- bath bomb mold
In a bowl, add in corn starch, citric acid, and baking soda stir well. Add in olive oil (or other oils) and stir with a fork to keep light and fluffy. Add in fragrance and coloring stir well.
Using the mold add a few sprinkle and packet both sides of mold then press together. Once you press together leave in mold for about a minute then remove and place on a tray to dry (harden) overnight.
The possibilities are endless with different molds, colors, and fragrances. Let your imagination guide you!
Get your Halloween baths on with these and don’t spend those Lush prices. These are so fun to make and give as gifts around the holidays. I am working feverishly on the shower bombs too for those that don’t take baths. Do you have a favorite bath bomb? Tell me about it below 🙂
