A few week’s ago my friend Jess and I got to visit the new La Madeleine’s in Flower Mound before it opened. To our surprise we got to hear the owner of La Madeleine’s speak about how he build his business catered to women. I found it very interesting as I really do think it is great restaurant for women. Though I have been able to find something on the menu that almost everyone in my family would eat. We went back a number of times now. Enjoyed both dinner and desserts on several occasions.
Jess and I had a chance to try the wine along with the baked potato soup, basil soup, and a few of the desserts. We lucked out and got a chance to sit directly by the fireplace. It was such a fun event that benefited a good cause. The Children’s Hunger Fund helps those in need for food. They were that evening with a raffle for those to pitch in to win a great gift pack to/from La Madeleine’s. All monies benefited the Children’s Hunger Fund. As a food blogger I very largely support the any organization that helps feed those in need. Once, a long time ago, went without food and this is not something I would wish for anyone. Food is the most basic of necessities. While most food bloggers write about things like high end meals I am always humbled to make a simple dish that is only cents on the dollar or a few dollars to make. Everyone needs to eat!
Another fantastic part about being a food writer and blogger is I get to express those opinions and tell all you great readers about great events like this. There is many organizations that help and I love that, what’s become one of my favorite restaurants, does work with organizations that help others.
I have to admit La Madeleine’s is the only place of it’s kind serving French food to a urban Texas city. I love it though! My great grandmother was French. It’s like an ode to my heritage when I have a chance to eat there. Have you ever been to La Madeleine’s? Do tell!
